National Aerospace Systems

National Aerospace Systems (NAS) A country's National Aerospace System (also National Airspace System) is comprised of a complex network of interconnected systems, the people who operate, maintain, and use those systems, and various detailed procedures and certifications. In the United States, the NAS includes more than 19,000 airports, some 750 air traffic control facilities, and over 45,000 pieces of equipment that operate around-the-clock to provide safe and efficient flight services for users. This portion of the Museum's website focuses primarily upon ATC-related aspects of National Aerospace Systems worldwide, and how those Systems interact with each other. |
